Writing invitation - what’s your theme song?

For Father’s Day, we went to a Colorado Rockies baseball game. One of the things I enjoy about attending a live game is that you can hear the music the players pick when they come up at bat. (I assume that all ballparks play music for the home team players.)

I always wonder what song I would pick if I was one of the players. So inspired by baseball, here’s this week’s writing invitation.

Writing Invitation One: If you were a professional baseball player, what song would you choose to have played when you came up to bat?
Why did you pick that song? What does it say about you as a baseball player? If you weren’t a ballplayer, would it still be your theme song? Would you pick another song instead? If so, why?

Baseball_cupcake Ingredients:

1 cupcake
White frosting
Red whip licorice
Chocolate frosting

Directions:

Frost the cupcake.
Using the stitching of a real baseball as your guide, recreate the pattern with the red licorice (or with red frosting and a writing tip).
With chocolate frosting and a writing tip, sign the ball with the name of your child’s favorite player.
