prince caspian narniaOnly nine days to Christmas and I’m sure a few of you are trying to find some inexpensive and easily found gifts for the kids on your list. One DVD I must  recommend is The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

In The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, the Pevensie children face a perilous mission and a greater test of their faith and courage. They find a world in which 1,300 years have passed. The White Witch is gone (sort of), the realm is ruled by a cruel tyrant, and Aslan has been missing for over a thousand years. The four children embark on a remarkable journey to restore magic and glory to the land. Accompanied by Trumpkin, a valiant dwarf, Reepicheep the talking mouse and a suspicious Black Dwarf named Nikabrik, they raise an army of Narnians to rise up against the evil king Miraz.

My review and gift recommendation

I loved The Chronicles of Narnia – The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, but thought that Prince Caspianwas an even better movie. The children are more mature, wiser, and much more comfortable in their roles as kings and queens of Narnia, even though they’ve returned as children.

I enjoyed the dynamic between Peter and Prince Caspian as they struggled with who was in charge and who should make decisions. I also liked that there was a slight possibility of romantic interest between Susan and Caspian, who is terribly handsome. (Played by Ben Barnes, he makes me wish I was a teenager again just so I could be allowed to have a proper crush on the guy.) And then there’s Lucy, slightly older, and still the bravest little girl in Narnia.

The Narnia movies and books deal with issues of family, faith, responsibility, bravery and loyalty. Plus, the movies are a great way to introduce the Narnia  books to young readers. A great gift would be the Prince Caspian DVD and either the The Chronicles of Narnia Box Set or at the Prince Caspian book. There are also easy reading books, movie still books, and even calendars based on the movie. All make perfect gifts for fans of the movie or books.

I love everything Narnia! I read the books as a kid, and now I am watching the movies and anticipating the future movies. Great gift suggestion! I hope that my relatives read this article.
