My trifle bowl recipe roundup is now being featured at FoodieView Blog – Recipe Roundup: Trifles: No Trifling Matter.
Trifles are terrific to make with kids since you can use ingredients like store bought sponge cake, instant pudding and premade whipped cream. The layers of cake, pudding, cream and fruit are also fun to put together – and even more delicious to eat. Making a trifle would be a fun family cooking project for a birthday or Super Bowl party.
If you don’t have a large trifle bowl, you can use any type of glass (like a wide mouthed drinking glass or a sundae dish) to make mini-trifles.
So here’s to a happy and delicious New Year!

I found out this morning that My Readable Feast is the featured blog on TodaysMama this week.
What’s TodaysMama? Well, it’s a social networking site for moms that provides personal, professional and parenting resources designed to foster a greater sense of identity, empowerment and connection for women and mothers everywhere.
The site also provides exclusive columns, features and tips in its Expand Your Perspective section from established authors and experts. Mamas share aspirations and find inspiration on the site’s Dream Big section, and groove and sway to the music on the site’s MamasMix.
So if you’re stopping by, welcome!

I’m posting another Recipe Roundup for the FoodieView blog. (Click here to see my Swiss Family Recipes and Cinco de Mayo healthy recipe roundups.)
My assignment from my FoodieView Blog editor is fun breakfast ideas with kids. I have a few dishes in mind, but would also love to get some recipes and pictures from my fellow food and parent bloggers.
If you have a post you’d like me to consider, email me at readablefeast at gmail dot com or leave a comment below with your name, email, your blog’s name URL, and the URL of the post.
Remember, the recipe should either be kid friendly (i.e., something that they could make with a little supervision) or a special breakfast treat that would appeal to kids. It doesn’t need to be healthy (though that’s a plus) just lots of fun!
Of course, I will link back to your blog and give you full credit for the recipe and/or picture.

I was a judge for the 2006 Cybils and they’re continuing the tradition this year with the 2007 Cybils awards. Once again, a terrific selection of books.(The widget below from SmartLinks shows just the nonfiction picture books. The other categories are Fantasy and Science Fiction, Fiction Picture Books, Graphic Novels, Middle Grade Fiction, Non-fiction: Middle Grade and Young Adult, Poetry, and Young Adult Fiction.) Can’t wait until February 14 for them to announce the winners.

Welcome to My Readable Feast, the new version of A Readable Feast, my former blog on ClubMom.
Here’s the deal. It’s a mess. I haven’t decided on my blog’s theme (look) yet. And I don’t have enough time to fix things up. But be patient…I’m working on it and hope to have everything cleaned up by the end of the month.
Until then, come by and see me at A Mama’s Rant, This Mama Cooks! or at The Write Spot.
